Hey, everyone – A Fat Wreck Head Writer Greg Pratt here. It’s been amazing watching all the enthusiastic talk out there about our movie, and it’s made me think a lot about what the role of the record label is, and why they’re important (make no mistake: they are), so I thought I’d scribble down a few words on the matter. When Fat Wreck Chords was getting started, I was a young fella who was living in a small town and diving head-first into independent music, mainly punk rock.
My initial post was going to be about Lagwagon’s newest studio album “Hang”, but it got me thinking. I was sitting there listening to the new tracks from the album, getting just as stoked as the first time I heard them (early this year, we conducted our Lagwagon interviews during their recording session for the new album and we were fortunate enough to hear a few tracks off the new record.) The newest offering reinvigorated me and reminded me of skipping class in high school
Here we are again this week!! It’s been a very exciting time for us over here at A Fat Wreck lately. We are excited to begin gearing up production on all the orders we have received from the Indiegogo, we have begun solidifying our interviews for Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas at the end of May, and we are currently getting our gear list up to par.
